Founders
H.O.L.A. was founded in 2021 by Danica Webb and Robert Conrad. They met 20 years ago at the University of Tübingen in Germany where they both studied Political Science and Sociology as well as the languages of German, English and Spanish. Both of them have extensive experience living and travelling in various countries of the world, which has shaped their lives ever since.
They know the value of learning additional languages and have personally experienced how learning a new language opens many new doors. This can lead to friendships, new educational and professional opportunities and contribute to the mutual understanding of different cultures. That’s why they are so excited to help you learn new languages and open new doors of opportunity.
Our Teachers
Hi! I’m Bernadette and I am a native New Yorker. While living and traveling in Central America, I started teaching English in 2020 to students throughout Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. I like to take my time when teaching. I speak slowly and review a lot. It’s important that my students feel comfortable enough to ask a lot of questions, make mistakes without apologizing and have fun in class. This means every student will leave class having learned something new. It brings me joy to see a student's face light up when they understand. Learning a second language can be a challenge, but it's a challenge anyone can conquer. I know this first hand because I, too, am learning a second language. Hello! My name is Rejan. I'm a fun and engaging person and I enjoy meeting new people. My teaching style is being encouraging, active, positive, and making personal relationships with my students to maximize our learning experience. I like to encourage people to speak with new words or phrases that we learn in our class. People in my classes usually feel happy! I am an active person; I love playing and watching sports, spending time with my family and sometimes watching TV.
